Top Mortgage Lenders in Nevada (Overall)Top Nevada Mortgage Lenders (for Home Buyers)Top Nevada Refinance Lenders (for Existing Homeowners)Top Mortgage Lenders in Las Vegas/HendersonTop Mortgage Lenders in RenoThe Best Nevada Mortgage Lenders?

It’s time to check out the top mortgage lenders in Nevada based on their total loan volume.

Last year, nearly 500 mortgage companies funded nearly $21 billion in The Silver State, down from those of 2021 highs of $68 billion.

But as always, there can only be one #1, and those honors went to a company you’ve likely heard of.

Yes, United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) was the top lender in the state, and by a very wide margin.

Read on to see which other companies made the top 10 lists.

Top Mortgage Lenders in Nevada (Overall)

Ranking Company Name 2024 Loan Volume
1. UWM $1.9 billion
2. Guild Mortgage $1.3 billion
3. Rocket Mortgage $1.0 billion
4. Lennar Mortgage $821 million
5. DHI Mortgage $800 million
6. KBHS Home Loans $454 million
7. Pulte Mortgage $451 million
8. CrossCountry $438 million
9. loanDepot $437 million
10. Pennymac $433 million

Pontiac, Michigan-based Rocket Mortgage funded $1.9 billion in home loans in the state of Nevada in 2024, per HMDA data from Richey May.

That was six hundred million more than necessary to beat out second San Diego-based Guild Mortgage, and nearly double the output of third place Rocket Mortgage, its crosstown rival.

UWM works exclusively with mortgage brokers via the wholesale lending channel, which makes the tally even more impressive.

Guild Mortgage, which hails out of San Diego, took second with $1.3 billion in origination volume, followed by Rocket with $1.0 billion.

What’s really interesting here is spots 4-7 were all home builder mortgage lenders, including Lennar Mortgage, DHI Mortgage, KBHS Home Loans, and Pulte Mortgage.

Rounding out the top 10 were nonbanks CrossCountry Mortgge and loanDepot, followed by Pennymac.

No major surprises in the list, but also no Nevada-based mortgage companies either.

The presence of four home builders in the top-10 list is a testament to the purchase-driven housing market nowadays.

Top Nevada Mortgage Lenders (for Home Buyers)

Ranking Company Name 2024 Loan Volume
1. UWM $1.4 billion
2. Guild Mortgage $1.2 billion
3. Lennar Mortgage $821 million
4. DHI Mortgage $800 million
5. Rocket Mortgage $537 million
6. KBHS Home Loans $454 million
7. Pulte Mortgage $451 million
8. CrossCountry $376 million
9. U.S. Bank $343 million
10. HomeAmerican Mtg $396 million

When we only include home purchase loans, UWM took the top spot with $1.4 billion funded, followed closely by 2021’s #1 Nevada home purchase lender Guild Mortgage.

In third was Lennar Mortgage with $821 million, a significant drop from the top two, which appear to be dominating in Nevada.

Fourth went to DHI Mortgage with $800 million (home builder D.R. Horton’s financing company), followed by Rocket Mortgage with $537 million.

Another three home builder financing divisions made up the bottom half the top 10, including KBHS Home Loans, Pulte Mortgage, and HomeAmerican Mortgage.

Depository U.S. Bank and nonbank CrossCountry Mortgage also managed to land there.

Once again, zero Nevada-based mortgage lenders in the mix here, which is surprising as home purchase loans are usually dominated by hometown companies.

Although, local home builders have grabbed significant home purchase market share as they’re able to offer huge incentives like temporary buydowns and permanent ones as well.

Top Nevada Refinance Lenders (for Existing Homeowners)

Ranking Company Name 2024 Loan Volume
1. Rocket Mortgage $454 million
2. UWM $452 million
3. Freedom Mortgage $222 million
4. loanDepot $125 million
5. Guild Mortgage $106 million
6. Pennymac $103 million
7. Mr. Cooper $79 million
8. Veterans United $71 million
9. Zions Bancorp $67 million
10. Lakeview $65 million

Turning our attention to mortgage refinances, Rocket Mortgage was easily tops with $454 million. Of course, they funded billions in this category a few years ago.

That was just enough to beat out their rival UWM, and more than double third place Freedom Mortgage.

Freedom was recently the top VA lender and mainly a refinance specialist, but that sector has been hit particularly hard lately.

In fourth was loanDepot with $125 million, followed by Guild in fifth with $106 million.

Others in the top 10 included Pennymac, Mr. Cooper (now owned by Rocket), Veterans United, Utah’s Zions Bancorp, and Lakeview Loan Servicing.

Top Mortgage Lenders in Las Vegas/Henderson

Ranking Company Name 2024 Loan Volume
1. UWM $1.4 billion
2. Rocket Mortgage $724 million
3. Lennar Mortgage $669 million
4. Guild Mortgage $648 million
5. DHI Mortgage $581 million
6. KBHS Home Loans $454 million
7. Pulte Mortgage $451 million
8. loanDepot $373 million
9. HomeAmerican Mtg $325 million
10. Pennymac $321 million

Top Mortgage Lenders in Reno

Ranking Company Name 2024 Loan Volume
1. Guild Mortgage $306 million
2. UWM $275 million
3. Rocket Mortgage $174 million
4. DHI Mortgage $151 million
5. CrossCountry $127 million
6. Chase $101 million
7. Lennar Mortgage $90 million
8. U.S. Bank $81 million
9. Pennymac $69 million
10. TBI Mortgage $59 million

The Best Nevada Mortgage Lenders?

As noted, none of the top 10 lenders (by volume) are Nevada-based companies. Instead, most are headquartered in nearby California.

While this makes sense, some folks might be interested in a local lender, as this can build trust when dealing with an important life decision such as a home purchase.

I went to Zillow to find some customer reviews, and found that All Western Mortgage, Inc. had the most reviews, over 700 of them. And more importantly, they have a 4.99/5 rating as of this writing.

That’s pretty much unbeatable, though as noted, they only managed to make 11th place in the purchase category, and 13th overall in the state of Nevada.

Still, when going up against the big boys, it’s not a bad ranking.

There’s also Valley West Mortgage out of Vegas with a 4.73/5 rating from over 200 reviews, along with Pinnacle Lending Group, Inc. (4.96/5) and Lone Mortgage (also 4.96/5), both with over 100 reviews.

It appears there are many, smaller entities operating within the state, likely some independent mortgage brokers with their own shops.

As far as the national brands are concerned, they also have strong reviews on Zillow, with Rocket Mortgage holding a 4.48/5, Guild Mortgage with a 4.96/5, and Wells Fargo with a 4.95/5.

So whether you go big or small, far away or local, you should be able to find a reliable mortgage partner in the state of Nevada.
